Three Accrington Stanley players are still available to play this weekend despite being involved in a road traffic collision.

Donald Love, Billy Crellin and Ash Hunter were involved in the collision yesterday afternoon, February 20, the club's head coach John Doolan revealed.

All three players came out of the incident relatively unscathed and will be in contention for their tough League Two fixture against promotion-chasing Doncaster Rovers.

An Accrington Stanley spokesperson said: “John Doolan has confirmed that Donald Love, Billy Crellin, and Ash Hunter, were involved in a road traffic collision yesterday afternoon.

“However, that all three will still be in contention for tomorrow’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Doncaster Rovers.”

All three players have been integral parts of the team this season, collecting a total of 56 appearances between them, with Crellin and Love regulars in the defence.

Right-back Love, 30, a product of Manchester United's academy, has made 27 appearances for Stanley after signing in the summer, contributing four assists and one goal.

Goalkeeper Crellin, 24, on loan from Everton, has played 23 times, managing seven clean sheets, while winger Hunter, 29, has featured mainly as a substitute after also signing in the summer, and has no goals or assists in the league.

The club currently sit 21st in the division, four points clear of the drop, with 16 games to go, but need to pick up more points to be comfortably clear of dropping into non-league.

Their opponents this week will prove a difficult test, with Doncaster currently flying at third in the division.
